HUMAN ZOO

Volunteer

Objective:

Human Zoo, held by GrassRoot organization, is a metaphor for our society in which we formed our performative and restricted selves. Aiming to confront the social bars that caged modern people, local artists carried out performance art, gigantic installations and numerous workshops.

Abstract:

I participated in the making of a six meter tall puppet for the opening flashmob parade marching around the busiest areas in Taipei city. The design is a salute to the traditional religious parade that scares away bad spirits. People were invited to write down their fears on its clothing, and when the parade finished, we burnt the puppet and left our despair behind.
